What do you do? Graphic design is the process of shaping a client's message to create powerful and effective communication. The form that communication takes can be anything from brochures, web sites and interactive presentations to corporate identity and annual reports. The intent of the communication can vary depending on the message. Some communication is designed to entertain, educate or inform, while other communication is meant to persuade.
In a client's mind, the words "graphic design" should ring synonmous to "engineer." As designers, our goal is not only to create something that visually impacts its target audience, but is functional in that it delivers the intended message. Great design has a purpose and works to achieve a goal.
Cleveland Browns RV Featuring players both new and old, the Browns RV has been a show piece in the Cleveland area for over five years. Depicted in numerous newspaper articles and a center of fan attention, the Browns RV stands as the ultimate sign of fandom.
University of Akron Basketball The athletics department at Akron wanted to highlight what they consider to be the best team in the Mid American Conference. Utilizing mixed media, including sintra, aluminum and cut vinyl, I created a sort of "explosion" piece that can easily be added to as the Akron Zips inevitably continue to win.
The University of Akron Police To compliment their new fleet of Dodge Chargers, the University of Akron requested graphics that said speed and authority. Without straying too far from other cruiser designs already in place on campus, I concocted this mean machine graphics.
Kent State University Football Looking to update their main football office in the hope of attracting more recruits, Kent State elected to coat their head coach's office wall with a history piece. Representing players dating back to the Refrigerator Bowl, this wall mural achieves the goal of impact and motion.
Ohio Mobile Gaming This trailer was the first in a set of six in addition to two pick-up trucks. The client requested high-impact graphics that conveyed the youthfulness of the company with an added "fun factor."
Canal Place This company serves as a small business incubator in Akron, Ohio. As such, the client requested a directory system that would appear very industrial and rough. Utilizing various materials, including mesh, stand-offs, magnets, brushed silver vinyl and clear acrylic, these systems were hung throughout the building.
